Upphlutur

I took an extra course in my school to learn how to make the Icelandic National Costume called Upphlutur. My piece is a girls costume for ages 7-9 from the 19th century and is made from wool fabric with silk binding and a cotton apron. The methods used are very traditional and include a lot of hand sewing and require delicate handling.
